There is nothing I love more than a sweet bouquet of aromas in my teacup! Especially if the scent of roses teases my nose. I truly adore rosebud tea. Besides smelling wonderful, it is high in vitamin C and can help boost your immune system.
A staple in Chinese medicine for more than 5,000 years, it is thought to have many health benefits. Quite a pretty, and tasty, antioxidant! To make this herbal tea, rose buds are plucked when young, then dried and steeped to create a beverage. Wonderful by itself, this delicate tea can also be blended with milk, honey or even green tea.
I love to brew a cup of this delightful tea, grab a favorite book and settle in for a relaxing evening at home. Perhaps you’d like to try this as well?
A Red, Red Rose
—Robert Burns
O my luve’s like a red, red rose,
That’s newly sprung in June;
O my luve’s like the melodie
That’s sweetly played in tune.
As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a’ the seas gang dry.
Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi’ the sun:
O I will love thee still, my dear,
While the sands o’ life shall run.
And fare thee weel, my only luve,
And fare thee weel awhile!
And I will come again, my luve,
Though it were ten thousand mile.
How to Make Rosebud Tea
Ingredients
2 tablespoons rosebud tea
First rinse the rosebuds for 30 seconds to remove any dust. Next fill a tea kettle with water and bring to a boil. Then turn the kettle off and let sit for 2-3 minutes while you put the rosebuds into a teapot. Pour in the water and let sit for 10 minutes. Now pour, through a strainer, the tea into a cup.
