Rose, Pink Lemon, Raspberry and Strawberry Infused Water

Fairies and their lore have always captivated me. Years ago when I first read about the Cottingley Fairies I was enchanted. In 1917 two cousins, Elsie Wright and Frances Griffiths, took the first of five alleged fairy photographs. These lovely black and white photos taken in Cottingley, England caused quite a stir…some people denounced them while others believed them to be real. Eventually the cousins admitted four of the five were faked, but refused to acknowledge that the final image wasn’t genuine.

In my home, my young twin daughters keep the belief of fairies alive. At night they ask me if this will be the eve they spot one. Sometimes they leave tiny teacups filled with sugar water out for the fairies. Usually the cups are empty in the morning and the fairies have left little gold hearts for the girls in thanks. So far my gals have not gotten a glimpse of the illusive sprites, but I seem to have captured one hanging out. Looks like she had a good nap in my teacup!

I love making my daughters infused water. It is hydrating and tasty. A favorite is my Rose,
Pink Lemon, Raspberry and Strawberry Infused Water. If the heat outside is making you feel faint, why not try a sip of this fruity drink!

Ingredients
Rose bud tea
2 pink lemons, cut into wedges
1/2 cup raspberries
1 cup sliced strawberries

First make a batch of rosebud tea. To do so rinse 2 heaping tablespoons of rosebud tea for 30 seconds (to remove any dust). Next boil water in a kettle. Turn off the kettle and place rosebuds in the hot water. Let the tea steep and cool. Now, pour the tea, including the rosebuds (you may have to scoop them out), into a tall pitcher. Add pink lemon wedges, raspberries and sliced strawberries. Place in the fridge for two hours. If you wish, you can remove all the rosebuds with a large slotted spoon before serving. Pour into desired cups and add a pretty straw!
