Looking Ahead to the Holidays

Tinkling laughter, a melody of voices and the clinking of glasses. I can almost hear it all! November has come upon us and the holiday season soon approaches. Right around the corner is Thanksgiving, a special time to be grateful for family and friends.

The warmth of this holiday, as well as ones to follow, is truly magical. During this time our sights and smells are delighted. Wondrous decor and home cooked meals await. Quite a few of us bring out our good china and best stemware. Why not? Instead of leaving it tucked away, isn’t it fun to actually use it? Who better to share it with than our loved ones?

Like many people my china cabinet is filled with special treasures handed down through the generations, as well as pieces I have selected myself. This blending of old and new feels extremely celebratory when I sit down for a shared experience with those that I hold dear.

If you’d like a cheerful mocktail at your next gathering, I’ve included my Watermelon Pink Party Lemonade recipe below. I wish you a splendid upcoming holiday season!

“My idea of good company, Mr Elliot, is the company of clever, well-informed people, who have a great deal of conversation; that is what I call good company.”
“You are mistaken,” said he gently, “that is not good company; that is the best.”
—Jane Austen
